We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, self starter to join our San Jose based Engineering team. The Web Architect’s role is to design and help implement a SOA and framework to enable content providers to prepare and contribute programming via a CDN to our edge TV delivery platform. This includes the selection of registry, policy, and service management platforms; integrating and adapting web technologies, and developing bridging technologies to complement the latest and greatest Web methods. The Web Architect is also responsible for developing service virtualization methods to support provisioning web content to our edge TV delivery platform. This individual is sometimes responsible for creating prototype Web site content. Exceptional knowledge of CDNs and SOAs is required.

Required Skills •    Demonstrated track record of full lifecycle development of registry, policy and service management platforms for a multi-tiered web application including discovering services from existing business processes, writing the business logic for new applications and virtualizing the management of the applications for centralized control       •    Demonstrable end-user interface development skills and understanding of content centric system architecture principles       •    Ability to quickly master new web technologies and push the envelope for architectural performance and reliability       •   SOA design ability, accompanied with strong analytical and problem solving skills       •   In-depth CDN design skills       •   Ability to reach out and use team strengths to solve problems       •   Ability to work independently and in small collaborative teams

Required Experience •    A minimum of 2 years experience in AJAX application and control development techniques       •   At least 5 years experience in the extensive use of web technologies for the publishing, categorizing and discovering of SOA services and artifacts       •   Experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, J2EE, application frameworks such as JMS, Struts, JSP and Servlets       •   Advanced development techniques including dynamic data driven pages, XML and SOAP interfaces       •   Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, PHP and Ruby       •   Experience with prototyping in PhotoShop and Flash       •   Additional points for experience in media centric web applications, understanding of media server configuration

Education BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant discipline and experience.
