We are currently seeking a highly-motivated, self starter to join our San Jose based Programming Services team, as a Software Developer, to develop Ruby on Rails based web applications; develop based web applications; and work in a team oriented, exciting, fun and challenging work environment.

We are looking for a mid-level network engineer (network engineer, level II) who will be responsible for installing, maintaining and supporting computer communication networks within our organization and between our data center and remote sites. Our goal is to ensure the smooth operation of communication networks in order to provide maximum performance and availability of content to our customers.

Typical Work Activities

This individual will be responsible for configuration management of hardware associated with our LAN, HQ to colo, and colo to edge sites.
Typical work activities usually include:

   Installing, supporting and maintaining new networking hardware and software infrastructure
     
   Allocating network resources
     
   Monitoring network usage
     
  Suggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problems
     
  Ensuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standards
     
  Undertaking routine preventative measures and implementing, maintaining and monitoring network security
     
  Providing training and technical support for users with varying levels of IT knowledge and competence
     
   Working closely with other departments/organizations and collaborating with other Technical Services, and Infrastructure Support staff
     
   Planning and implementing future IT developments and undertaking project work
     
   Managing and keeping internal networks running
     
   Helping monitor the use of the networks

Required Qualifications

   Cisco certification CCNP
     
  Network configuration and management in Windows server environments
     
  Network configuration and management in Linux (RedHat Enterprise, Centos)
     
  Hands-on experience with load balancer technologies
     
  Nagios
     
  Cacti
     
  Experience working in a rapid response environment
 

  

Desired Qualifications

BCCDA (Cisco Certified Design Associate), CCIE
